Research interest
An Austrian clock from around 1700 that has outlived its maker, his workshop, the state he lived in, and every person who ever wound it. It is in a museum in another country and it still exists.
This is the entire argument for building durable instruments, and it takes one sentence. Everything I have written about long-duration experiments is a longer version of looking at an object like this one.
