This log exists so that the project has a public record that predates its results. If Project Nikolaos eventually finds nothing, that outcome should be readable here, in the same place and the same typeface as everything else - and it should be possible to see how the wording changed on the way.

This site exists so that the project has a public record that predates its results. Its thesis is set out in full on the project page and can be put briefly here.
Historical reports of unusual experience are abundant and almost impossible to test: the witnesses are gone, the conditions were never recorded, and centuries of interpretation have settled on top of the account. Occasionally, though, part of the physical environment survives - a tower, a mechanism, an object that was there and is there still. Resonant objects are the interesting case, because their behaviour is a legible function of their physical state and can be characterised repeatedly.
The question is whether that fact can be made to do any work: whether, if some unusual reports had an external environmental component, a well-documented persistent resonator could show a reproducible departure. We expect the answer to be no, and we have published the standards we intend to be held to before there is anything to apply them to.
There is nothing to report. That is the correct state of a project at the beginning, and writing it down now makes it harder to pretend otherwise later.
